Neighborhood Crime Watch to meet tonight

Lehighton Area Neighborhood Crime Watch meets regularly on the fourth Tuesday of the month. The next meeting is scheduled for this evening at 6:30 p.m. at Lehighton Area High School. Upcoming meetings are scheduled for June 26 and July 24.

The purpose of this newly-formed organization is to bring citizens together to help be additional "eyes and ears" of law enforcement to deter crime and make communities safer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. All interested community members are invited and encouraged to attend and become involved.Donations are currently being accepted from individuals, families, businesses, and other organizations in order to purchase Crime Watch signs to be erected throughout the Lehighton area.Established in 1972, Neighborhood Watch has proven to be one of the oldest and most effective crime prevention programs in the country.
