Just under 300 science fair projects filled the Tamaqua Area School District's auditorium Thursday evening during the Tamaqua Middle School's annual science fair.

Projects ranged in diversity, from one proving that oak burns faster than cedar and pine, to another showing that three gallon-size jugs of Jello can stop a bullet.Another project showed that a wood bat is more likely to hit a baseball the farthest, compared to composite and metal bats.On hand were 7th and 8th grade science teacher Ed Mariano and 6th grade science teachers Mike Luna and Mike Murphy. Middle School Principal Mr Christopher Czapla and the science teachers lauded students for the hard work and initiative they put into their projects.
