First St., Lehighton, filed against Terry Brown, 111 Park St., Weissport. They were married July 4, 1992.Medical suitWilliam and Hallie Rivas, 208 E. Federal St., Allentown, filed a civil complaint against the Palmerton Hospital and Blue Mountain Health Systems, its owner, and Dr. Edward Manzella, MD., of 241 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.The suit states on Jan. 19, 2010, William Rivas went to the Palmerton Hospital emergency room for chest pains. He was treated their by staff members and Dr. Manzella, the suit states. The suit charges he was given medication for non-cardiac chest pain and released. It was noted no blood work of other testing was done except for a chest xray.On Jan. 2, 2010, he was rushed by ambulance to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, and later transferred to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, being diagnosed with more serious medical conditions.Negligence for his medical care given by the defendants is alleged and sought are damages "in excess of compulsory arbitration limits."The case was originally filed in Northampton County court but moved to Carbon County.
