Vehicle stop leads to warrant arrest

A vehicle stop by Pocono Mountain Regional police led to a warrant arrest of a Monroe County man.

Police said the stop was made along SR940 at Oak St., in Mount Pocono, about 11:17 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2. The stop was made for a brake light being out.The driver was identified as Jeffrey Washington, 48, of Tobyhanna. A check revealed Washington's license was under suspension for a drunk driving conviction. It was also learned he was wanted on a bench warrant issued out of the county court.Washington was taken into custody and placed in the county prison on the warrant. He was also issued a citation for driving while under suspension-DUI related.
