Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers over the past weekend on Schuylkill County roads.

A crash occurred about 11:38 a.m. on Friday, April 27, at the intersection of SR443 (Chestnut St.) and Pine Creek Drive, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Paul R. Huebner, 91, of Orwigsburg, was stopped in a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu on Pine Creek Drive and pulled out from a stop sign and was struck by a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven eastbound on 443 by Stephen P. Gaida, 78, of New Ringgold.Upon impact the Dakota spun clockwise across the westbound lane and came to rest against a utility pole along the berm.The Malibu continued straight across both eastbound and westbound lanes of 443 and came to rest in a dirt parking area.Huebner and passengers James M. Huebner, 52, and Josephine B. Huebner, 90, both of Orwigsburg, were all not injured. Gaida sustained a minor injured and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville.A one vehicle crash was reported about 12:13 a.m. on Sunday, April 29, along Stony Mountain Road, in South Manheim Township. Troopers said Kevin R. Miller, 23, of Pottsville, was driving a 2003 Subaru Impreza westbound and too fast for conditions.Miller attempted to negotiate a right curve, traveled across the eastbound lane and onto the berm where it went down a slight embankment.The left front struck a tree, traveled several more feet, and came to rest.The vehicle then burst into flames.Miller and his passenger, Tyler Seroka, 22, of Pottsville, both sustained minor injuries in the crash and were taken to the SMC-S. Jackson St. for treatment. Troopers cited Miller for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.A two vehicle crash occurred about 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of SR61 and Manheim Road, in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Jamie L. Minnich, 31, of Schuylkill Haven, was operating a 2008 Jeep Patriot northbound on 61 while Denise M. Berger, 45, of Pottsville, driving a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville, was pulling out from Manheim Road to go south. Troopers said Minnich failed to stop for a steady red light and struck Berger's vehicle.No one was injured with damages moderate to both vehicles. The Bonneville had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited Minnich for traffic control signals violation.
