The Palmerton Area High School Concert Band will perform on the bandstand in the Borough Park on Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m.

The band will perform a variety of styles of music characteristic of the concert band, and some not so typical for a band of this style. Concert works will include "Canticum," "Korean Folk Rhapsody," and "Knights of Destiny." Traditional band repertoire will include "The Thunderer" and "The Liberty Bell" by John Philip Sousa along with a couple patriotic selections. The band will depart from the traditional repertoire to perform arrangements of "Eye of the Tiger," "Jump Jive and Wail," and "Thriller."The concert is free and open to the public. Bring blankets or lawn chairs, or sit on the benches in the park.
