A driver was injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred about 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, along Main St., in the borough of Gilberton, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Alex C. Long, 22, of Girardville, was driving a 1993 Honda Accord westbound when he fell asleep at the wheel. The car went onto the berm and struck a utility pole with the front end. After impact the car continued west and struck a parked 1994 Mercury Topaz.After that impact the Honda rolled over onto its right side and came to rest in the eastbound lane.Long was taken to a Pottsville area hospital for treatment of unknown type injuries, troopers said. He was cited for careless driving, troopers added.
