A Weatherly man is being charged by Rush Township police following a traffic stop on Claremont Avenue.

George Kolar, 62, was stopped by police for traffic violations then told the officer he was a Carbon County Sheriff. Kolar also allegedly displayed a badge identifying himself as a sheriff.It didn't take long for police to determine that Kolar is not now, nor was he ever, a sheriff. He will be charged with impersonating a public servant in addition to the traffic violations.
