Mahoning police report

Mahoning Township police have filed charges of retail theft have been filed against Theresa Flexer, Ashfield. On April 20, 2012, Flexer attempted to leave the Lehighton Giant store with a shopping cart full of groceries without having paid for the items. The items which included food and flowers were valued at $169.71, according to Officer Audie Mertz.

On April 23, Charles Poff III of Saylorsburg was identified as one of the individuals involved in two laptop thefts at the Lehighton Walmart on April 12, and April 14. The stolen laptops were valued at $1681.16. Poff was arraigned by District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton on charges of retail theft and criminal conspiracy-retail theft, both misdemeanor one charges. Bail was set at $10,000. Poff was committed to the Carbon County Prison.On April 24, Carlos Vazquez of Kutztown was arrested at the State Correctional Institution at Frackville on a driving under the influence warrant. Vazquez was arraigned by District Judge Kissner and released on unsecured bail.Vazquez had been stopped by Officer Meek for speeding on Blakeslee Blvd Drive East. He was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of marijuana, Possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), and speeding.
