Fifteen defendants in pending criminal cases were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program for first time offenders on Tuesday by Judge Joseph J. Matika.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record will be wiped clean. However, if the fail to complete the program, or are revoked from it, the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.David J. Boyle Jr., 26, of Nesquehoning, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on Oct. 23, 2011, along Market St., in Summit Hill. Given a test, the result was .21BAC.He was assessed $450 for the program, and ordered to get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, license suspended for 60 days, and render 50 hours of community service.William Fallon Brown, 47, of Catasauqua, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Nov. 28, 2011, along SR209 in Franklin Township. Given a test, the result was .19BAC.He was assessed $450, license suspended 60 days, get a D&A evaluation, and render 50 hours of community service.Dylan Thomas Craig-Zelena, 19, of Palmerton, was placed on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Sept. 25, 2011, at the Blue Mountain Ski area in Lower Towamensing Township, by state police at Lehighton.He was assessed $350, get a D&A evaluation, and render 50 hours of community service.Steven Nicholas Curry, 30, of White Haven, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Oct. 11, 2011, along SR940 in East Side Boro by state police at Fern Ridge. He was arrested on Sept. 3, 2011, along SR248 in Bowmanstown. Given a test, the result showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $450, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended 60 days, and render 50 hours of community service.Matthew William Price, 24, of Coaldale, was placed on a DUI charge.
