Carbon Career & Technical Institute DECA member's Kellyann Higgins (Palmerton) and Bree-Anne D'Esposito (Jim Thorpe) presented an $800 check to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Representative Courtney Angle, the fund raising coordinator of the MDA office in Allentown, proudly accepted the donation. Last year, Kellyann and Bree-Anne started their own non-profit business called Kandi for a Cause for their DECA competitive project. At the state competition this past February, Kellyann and Bree-Anne won third place in the Learn and Earn Event. They will be competing at the National DECA competition in Salt Lake City, Utah this month. There, they will present their idea that has raised this money to send a deserving child with Muscular Dystrophy to the MDA's summer camp for a week this summer.
