The West End Fire Company Substation on Route 115 in Mt. Effort will again serve as a collection site for The Drug Enforcement Administration's next National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day in Monroe County.That collection date is set for Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.This provides a great opportunity for those who missed the previous event due to the Halloween snow storm. If anyone has accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, this is an opportunity to safely dispose of these medications.In addition, this initiative is geared for the county residents' safety in the event of an accidental overdose of unused medications. This is a nationwide event, and in the past 13 months, 498.5 tons of medication have been properly taken out of circulation and have not landed in landfills or waterways.Rotary speakerWest End Rotary will host Anthony Diaz at its Thursday, April 26, breakfast meeting. Diaz will speak about: Financial Planning in the 2012 Market. Youth who came went home with more books than expected and there are more books yet, which will be donated to entities which work with children.
