A new, fast Lehigh Valley Railroad freight train, known as B-NY-2, on its maiden trip from Buffalo to New York City, on a 12-hour schedule daily, was wrecked 100 yards west of Bowmanstown bridge at 2:25 a.m. today, resulting in the death of Charles Remaley, engineer, Lehighton, and the slight injuring of other members of the crew.

The train consisted of three cars of perishable goods and a caboose.
