Woman injured after car flips in Hometown

A Bucks County woman suffered injuries after losing control and rolling her car on SR54 between Ye Old Hauto Road and Lake Drive in Hometown.

Police said that Marianne Mitchell of Fairless Hills, who was traveling west on SR54, traveled across the eastbound lane and hit the south embankment. The car then swerved back into the westbound lane and then down an embankment where the vehicle flipped.Mitchell was transported to St. Luke's Hospital - Miner's Campus for unknown injuries. Responding in addition to Rush Township Police, were Tamaqua Rescue Squad and Hometown Fire Company. Also responding were ambulances from Tamaqua BLS and Lehighton ALS.Hometown Fire Police volunteers controlled traffic around the scene during the response and vehicle removal.Police officer Adam Sinton is the investigating officer.
