Coroner at Rotary

The West End Rotary Club will host Monroe County coroner Bob Allen at its breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, April 12, at the Western Pocono Community Library, Brodheadsville.He will present his view and experience on "A Day in the Life of a Coroner."Family Promise speaksWestern Pocono Women's Club will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, April 16, at Effort Methodist Church. The guest speaker will be Karin Falcone from Family Promise of Monroe County, an organization committed to helping local homeless families achieve permanent housing and lasting independence. They do this with community help using transitional housing, job training, child care and literacy.Membership in the WPWC is open to women 18 years and older seeking to help the West End Community. stpetersum.webstarts.com.PIC cleanupsPride In Chestnuthill will hold spring roadside litter cleanup days on April 14 and April 28, May 12 and May 26, and June 9. Rain dates are the following Saturday. PIC is a small group of volunteers, mostly senior citizens, so help is needed.The group will meet at 7 a.m., at the Chestnuthill Township Municipal Building on Route 715 on those dates, unless there is rain, snow, drizzle or temperatures below 40 degrees.Participants are reminded to wear rugged jeans, boots and a brightly colored shirt. Youngsters 13-18 must be accompanied by their parent. The group is registered with the Great PA Cleanup at
