Six area residents among 29 placed in Schuylkill ARD

Six area residents were among 29 qualified by District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon to be placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program, which is reserved for first offenders who committed a non-violent crime.

At hearings held in Schuylkill County court, Senior Judge D. Michael Stine admitted them into the program and imposed conditions and if they don't violate the terms of the conditions their records will be cleared. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted:Jonathan L. Houser, 23, of 16 Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua, driving under the influence (DUI), assessed $500 to defray cost of program, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) program, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Agency (CJEA) program, $50 to Catastrophe program, complete alcohol highway safety school, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license suspended 60 days. Houser was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers, last July 27.Matthew Joseph Miller, 53. of 2 Gameland Drive, Tamaqua R.D., DUI, assessed $500, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $180 to Schuylkill Medical Center, 10 hours community service, attend safety school and license suspended 30 days. Miller was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jason A. Klouser, last July 9.David Peter Oceles, 52, of 43 Valley St., Tamaqua R.D., DUI, assessed $500, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to Catastrophe, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school and license suspended 60 days. Oceles was cited by Cpl. Richard D. Morgan, state trooper, when stopped on Mountain Road in Blythe Township last Aug. 17.Michael Robert Rumpf, of 177 Valley St., New Philadelphia, DUI, $500 assessment, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to Catastrophe, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, 10 hours community service, complete safety school and license suspended 60 days.
