Lake View Trail

Hike plannedNaturalist Robin Tracey will lead a hike on the Crow and Lake View Trails at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at Tuscarora State Park. The hike is 5.5 miles in length and moderate in difficulty. The trails cross through two creeks and run parallel to the lake. There will be a spectacular view from the dam. Participants should meet at the Crow Trail parking lot off Tuscarora Mountain Road. Call Robin at 570-467-2506 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for more information. This is a dog friendly hike, but all pets must be leashed and get along with other pets and people. Shine only.Early evening bird walk at Locust LakeConservation volunteer David Kruel will lead an early evening bird walk on Friday April 20 at Locust Lake. Those planning to participate should meet at 6:30 p.m. at the contact station at the park. Kruel will offer helpful information about how to identify local and migratory songbirds by sight, song, habitat and behavior. The walk will be followed by a search for owls. Those attending are encouraged to bring binoculars. This is not a pet friendly hike. Shine only.Early morning bird walk in TuscaroraConservation volunteer John Domalakes will lead an early morning bird walk on Saturday, April 21 at the Tuscarora State Park. Those participating should meet at 7:30 a.m. at the visitor center. Some easy hiking will be done on the trails. Those attending should wear comfortable shoes, waterproof preferably and bring along binoculars. This is not a pet friendly hike. Shine only.
