Easter activities

St. Matthew's UCC will hold its community Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 7 at 2 p.m. in the picnic grove, weather permitting. If not, it will be held in the social hall of the church. Bring donated hard boiled eggs or filled plastic eggs to the church before noon Saturday.There will be a Sunrise Service on Resurrection Sunday morning, April 8, at 6:30 a.m. in the picnic grove.It will be followed by an Easter breakfast in the social hall at 7:30 a.m.An Easter Communion Service will be held at 9 a.m. All are welcome to join in this glorious celebration.Cemetery cleanupPlease make sure to have all cemetery graves cleaned up no later than April 14. All graves must be clear of flowers and decorations to prepare for the mowing season. All items left will be thrown away.Calling all craftsmen/artistsSt. Matthew's will be holding a fundraiser called "How Great thou Art" in July and are looking for artists and crafts people to donate a handmade item. It can be a painting, a sculpture, quilt, stitchery, furniture, jewelry, etc. The idea is to feature the work of the many talented local artisans. Those who would like to make such a donation may contact Diane Huber for more information at (610) 681-7217.Chestnut Ridge SeniorsThe Chestnut Ridge Seniors will meet on Thursday, April 12 at 11 a.m. at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co. Come wearing your best Easter bonnet. There will be a ham drawing, Easter eggs and cupcakes. Bring your own lunch and they will be playing bingo.
