Firefighters from three counties battled a forest fire Thursday afternoon on the south side of the Blue Mountain in Lehigh Township. The fire was first reported at 2 p.m. when heavy smoke was spotted just east of Blue Mountain Drive north of Danielsville. Firemen used all-terrain vehicles to get near the scene and walked into the site. A helicopter was used to make several drops on the stubborn fire, which was fanned by strong winds.
