ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Forty five scouts with the Tamaqua Girl and Boy Scouts took part in a egg drop challenge recently at the Hometown Farmers Market. Scouts had to protect their eggs within a Chinese takeout container. Some methods and ingredients used to prevent cracking were peanut butter, Crisco, rice crispies, spray foam, super glue, bubble wrap, cotton balls, pop corn, sponges, tennis balls, jello cups, mini balloons, sour cream and memory foam. Organizer Nancy Paisley stated her appreciation to all the scouts, family members and Hometown Farmers Market. She also stated her appreciation to Sean Hegarty for donating his bucket truck for the event. Rachael Paisley, 15, laughs in amazement with her mom, Nancy, as they are shocked to see an egg survive a 40 foot drop.
