The go-ahead was given by the Zoning Hearing Board of Adjustments in Lehighton for the construction of the first subsidized family apartment complex in Carbon County. The six-building complex will be built in the vicinity of Gypsy Hill Road and Mahoning Street. The complex will consist of a dozen one-bedroom, 38 two-bedroom, and 16 three-bedroom apartments. There will also be four two-bedroom apartments included for handicapped persons. It was noted that the apartments will be available for anyone, but priority will be given to low-income families.
