State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers over the past weekend.
Troopers said about 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, David Adams, 49, of Stroudsburg, was stopped along Meixell Valley Road in Ross Township, Monroe County, after being observed driving erratically. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests.He was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.The DUI charge is pending the test results.About 2:07 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, troopers responded to 57 Road, near Christman Road, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, to a report of a crash.Upon arrival troopers observed a driver attempting to leave the scene.The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Timothy W. Shultz, 37, of Kunkletown.In speaking with Shultz troopers noted the odor of an alcohol beverage. Shultz, who admitted drinking, submitted to a PBT test which showed positive for alcohol.He was then placed under arrest for DUI.
