Pocono regional police announce joint program

Pocono Mountain Regional police will announce a new and innovative approach to law enforcement at tonight's meeting of the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Commission which will start at 7 p.m.

Cedar Crest College of Allentown and the University of Louisville, , Louisville, Ky., along the Pocono Regional department will announce a "Crime Analysis Partnership."The department will be working with a PhD and graduate assistant from Louisville and an assistant professor and research assistant from Cedar Crest on this project.The two universities will provide long term crime analysis and crime mapping services to Pocono Regional police at no cost with issues relating to: community safety and quality of life; police efficiency during a time with tight budget constraints; police-community partnerships for problem solving; and targeted crime prevention initiatives.Chief Harry Lewis and Cedar Crest Assistant Professor Scott Hoke and Louisville Professor Eric McCord, PhD, will be presenting the program at the meeting.
