State police at the Lehighton barracks said Travis J. Dotter, 17, of Kunkletown, was cited after a mishap March 5 at 2:45 p.m. on State Route 115 in Ross Township.

Police said he was driving a 1997 Toyota Accord northbound when he swerved to the right to avoid striking a vehicle that was stopped in the road at the intersection with the Wilkes-Barre Turnpike. Police said the Accord traveled off the road and struck the guard rail on the east side of the road with its right side.Dotter was uninjured.
