A Northumberland County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 11:45 a.m. on Monday, March 5, along Valley Road in Foster Township.

Troopers said Daniel D. Strenkoski, 51, of Coal Township, was driving a 1997 Ford Escort LX southbound and failed to negotiate a left curve in the road, causing him to lose control.The car began to spin in a counter-clockwise direction, went onto the berm and struck an embankment and several rocks.Strenkoski, who was not injured, was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test. Troopers said Strenkoski refused to submit to the test. Charges of DUI and traffic offenses will be filed, troopers added.
