Break-ins, theft incidents probed
State police at Lehighton reported on burglaries, thefts and other incidents probed by troopers.
A break-in occurred at the residence of Penny Kay Zastko, 49, of 236 Franklin St., Weissport. A Dell laptop computer was stolen from the home. The incident was reported at 10 a.m. on Feb. 28.A home at 30 Ramblewood Drive, at Pine Court, in Ross Township, Monroe County, was entered by breaking a back door. Once inside the criminals spray-painted all the walls of the home. Nothing was apparently taken, troopers added. The incident occurred sometime 8 a.m. and noon on Feb. 16. The property is owned by PennyMac Loan Service of Calabasa, Calif., troopers said.A residence at 96 Haney Road, in Kresgeville, Polk Township, Monroe County, was entered through multiple doors with the doors damaged but nothing apparently taken. The incident was reported at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 3. The property is owned by Helena Favire, of Rahway, N.J.Troopers said on Friday, March 2, Jamie L. Ratti, 33, of 105 Horseshoe Drive, Gilbert, Polk Township, reported a gold diamond wedding ring attached to her engagement ring was stolen from her home. There was also six other gold rings taken with a total estimated value of $7,000.The theft occurred sometime between 5 and 9 p.m. on March 2.A 53-year-old female, who resides at 2855 Hahns Dairy Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, contacted troopers to report a small .22-caliber Rohm handgun, with three-inch barrel, and six shot revolver, black in color, was removed from her home. The gun had a cream-colored handle. The theft was reported at 9:24 p.m. on Feb. 27.Troopers are probing a scattering of rubbish incident that occurred in the area of 145 Vaughn Acres Lane, in Towamensing Township. Unknown persons left several bags of trash on the property of Suzanna Vaughn, 77. The incident was reported on Feb. 28.On Feb. 28 about 10:33 a.m. troopers responded to the area of 8914 Robin Hood Drive, in Kunkletown, Polk Township, for a report of vehicles entered at that address and 4421 Arrow Lane. The unlocked vehicles were entered sometime between 5:31 a.m. and noon that date.Taken was a wallet with a KNBT ATM card, tools, flashlights, CDs, and about $15 in change. The AMT card was then used at the Sunoco station along SR209 in Brodheadsville. There were also three transactions attempted at the Weis Market along SR209, which were rejected.The listed victims are Rachel Joy Allen and Allen and John Zgura.The suspects were described as being a white male, black hair, wearing a black jacket and black pants, and a N.Y. Yankee hat. A white female, wearing a white jacket, black hair and blue jeans.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
