Astronomy program slated at CCEEC

The Carbon County Environmental Education Center will hold a stargazing program on Tuesday, March 13, at 8 p.m. "Astronomy Night" will be presented by Penn State biology professor, Dr. Carl Frankel.

The program will include a brief indoor introduction, followed by an outdoor session to locate winter constellations and visible planets. Participants should bring binoculars if possible, and dress for the outdoors.Tea and hot chocolate will be available after the session.CCEEC members are invited to the program free of charge. A donation is asked from non-members. Pre-registration is required by calling (570) 645-8597.CCEEC is located at the west end of Mauch Chunk Lake Park, just outside Jim Thorpe, along Lentz Trail.
