Lehighton man cited in Thorpe

A Lehighton man was cited for an incident in Jim Thorpe.

Borough police said on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at about 10:31 a.m. they were dispatched to 8 Cedar Ave. for a report of criminal mischief. At the scene Allen Miller Jr., of that address, said that Derick Hymans, 19, of 217 S. Third St., Lehighton, had smashed out the front driver and passenger side windows along the rear window of his Plymouth Neon sedan. He also said Hymans slashed all four tires on the vehicle. Miller said the incident was observed by a neighbor.On Thursday, Dec. 1, police interviewed Hymans concerning the allegations and he denied any wrongdoing. Police said they later filed a charge of criminal mischief against Hymans. Restitution was set at $466.60, police added.
