Vince Gill coming to Penn's Peak Aug. 18

Tickets go on sale today for a huge concert event at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe.

Vince Gill, who has earned 27 Grammy Awards and is a two-time country music "Entertainer of the Year" award winner, makes his debut appearance at the venue on Saturday night, Aug. 18.Among his hits are "I Still Believe In You," "When I Call Your Name," and "One More Last Chance."He is tied with George Strait for having won the most CMA Male Vocalist Awards (five), and is currently second only to Brooks and Dunn for accumulating the most CMA Awards in history. Gill is a member of the Grand Ole Opry.Another announcement that will interest country music fans is the return of Aaron Tippin to the Peak on Friday, April 27. Opening for him will be local singing sensation Nicole Donatone. Tickets for this concert go on sale March 3.Tippin's top singles include "You've Got to Stand For Something" and "There Ain't Nothing Wrong With the Radio."Dennis DeYoung brings the Music of Styx to the Peak on Saturday, May 12, with tickets for this even on sale March 17.DeYoung is a founding member of Styx,DeYoung left the band in 1999 due to health reasons.In 2010 DeYoung formed a new rock band dedicated to the music of Styx featuring new members guitarist and lead vocalist August Zadra and bass player and vocalist Craig Carter. They joined with John Blasucci, Jimmy Leahey, Tom Sharpe and Suzanne DeYoung in performing Styx hits including "Renegade", "Blue Collar Man" and others as well as DeYoung's solo works.Foreigner was announced for Penn's Peak on June 29, with tickets going on sale today.The band boasts album sales of more than 70 million worldwide.Hit singles by Foreigner include "I Want To Know What Love Is" and "Waiting for a Girl Like You."Meanwhile, tonight at Penn's Peak, it's Bruce in the USA, a Bruce Springsteen tribute.
