Hit and run driver is being sought

A hit and run driver is being sought in Schuylkill County. The crash is one of two reported by state police at Schuylkill Haven,

Troopers said the hit and run occurred along Main St., in Porter Township. Troopers said an unknown vehicle was driven northbound in the village of Joliett and after rounding a curve it crossed over into the southbound lane. The vehicle then went onto the berm into the parking lot of the Joliett Fire Company.The vehicle then re-entered the southbound lane and traveled about 94 feet. The vehicle then left the road again and traveled about 24 feet before striking a road sign. After impact with the sign the car continued in a northwest direction for about six more feet before striking a fire plug and a private property sign.The vehicle then continued about 54 feet before striking a tree and a large rock. The driver then fled the scene.Troopers said the incident occurred sometime between 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, and 10 a.m. on Sunday.Troopers investigated a crash about 6:25 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, along SR901 in Branch Township. Troopers said Patrick J. Medley, 26, of Pottsville, was driving a 1991 BMW 318 westbound and turning left to go south on SR209 while Dorothy Brennan, 69, of Pottsville, driving a 2000 Subaru Legacy, was eastbound.Troopers said Medley turned into the path of Brennan and a collision occurred. Troopers said Brennan was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, by family members for precautionary measures. Medley and Brennan's passenger, Kyle P. Brennan, 14, of Pottsville, were not injured.Troopers cited Medley for vehicle turning left.
