Brandie White, 25, of 258 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, faces charges from an incident which took place at 8:35 p.m. Feb. 7. She is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution, interference with the custody of children, and corruption of minors. Charges were filed by Officer Joshua Tom. White was arraigned and placed in prison under $5,000 bail.
According to an affidavit of probable cause:Officers Tom and Jason Helmer were on duty. They had received information the day before about the whereabouts of a male juvenile who had run away from the CONCERN Treatment Unit for Boys in Mahoning Township. Tom and Helmer made contact with the defendant, Brandie White, who admitted she conspired with the juvenile, identified by his initials, H.J.White aided H.J. with shelter, food, water, clothing and other items needed to survive on cold nights.White's husband, Ray White, figured out that his wife was aiding and/or allowing someone to live in their garage based on the fact that these assisting items were found there. Ray White also told police that a bed with blankets was set up in their attic, which had not been in the attic before. White stated that he confronted Brandie about the situation on Feb. 6.Brandie was afraid H.J. would be caught by police, so she took the boy back to York County, where he is from, in her own car.
