Named to dean's list

Michael Lindenmuth of Nesquehoning has been named to the dean's list at Mount Saint Mary's University, Emmitsburg, Md., for the fall 2011 semester with a 3.93 GPA.

Lindenmuth is a senior majoring in political science, with a double minor in history and sports management.He is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society and the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. He is a peer note taker for students with special learning needs, a political columnist for the school newspaper, a broadcaster for Mount Saint Mary's radio station and was recently selected as one of several Mount Saint Mary's representatives at the annual Mid-Atlantic European Union Simulations Consortium held in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.This experiential learning program endeavors to connect American students to EU policymakers and policymaking by utilizing the simulation to bridge the gap between the academic study of the EU and the actual political practices in the EU.Lindenmuth was part of the European Council that represented the country of Portugal. He was selected to represent Mount Saint Mary's by serving as the prime minister of Portugal, Pedro Passos Coelho. While at Georgetown, he had the opportunity to visit the Portuguese Embassy and meet the Portuguese Ambassador to the United States.A 2008 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Lindenmuth is the son of Earl and Lisa Lindenmuth, and the grandson of Sam and Jennie Citrano of Nesquehoning.
