State police at the Fracksville barracks are investigating the cause of a fire that happened on Feb. 2 around midnight in Auburn Borough, destroying a garage and causing damages that police said are in excess of $25,000.

The fire happened at the rear of 434 Market St. at a garage owned by Douglas Naftzinger and occupied by a Harold Miller.Police said the Auburn Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the above location and upon arrival encountered a wood-frame garage ablaze. The garage and its contents were destroyed.Polices said an investigation into the origin and cause of the fire revealed the fire was intentionally started.No injuries were reported.
