A New Jersey man has been charged for violating a protection from abuse (PFA) order in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Pedro Carmenate, 50, of Newark, was charged for an incident that occurred about 8:48 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan., 31, at 60 Schuylkill St., in Cressona.Troopers said Carmenate made contact with a 17-year-old female in violation of the order. The complaint was made the the female's mother, troopers added.
