State police at the Fogelsville barracks are investigating a theft by deception incident that happened in Weisenberg Township.

Police said the victim is Kenneth Kunkel, 64, of Kutztown.Police said he provided payment for cases of frozen steak being sold door-to-door and indicated to police he had not received his order as promised but his checks were cashed. The sales took place between Nov. 30 of last year and Jan. 3.Police said attempts to contact the individuals who were selling the items were unsuccessful. Police said the victim identified them as three white males in a white pickup truck with a freezer case in its bed.
