Florida resident arrest for assault

A Florida resident has been arrested and charged with assault stemming from an incident in Jim Thorpe.

Borough police said they arrested Scott Souders, 32, of 8787 Southside Blvd., Apt. 2412, Jacksonville, on Friday, Jan. 6, on a criminal warrant charging him with simple assault and harassment.The assault allegedly occurred at 427 Center Avenue on Dec. 18, 2011, at about 10:30 p.m. Police said Randall D. Perry II, alleged that Souders struck him several times about the face which caused a laceration above Perry's left eye that required stitches.Souders is currently in the county prison in Nesquehoning on unrelated assault charges. He was arraigned on the new charges before District Judge Edward Lewis, of Jim Thorpe, and returned to the county prison.
