Schuylkill man cited for theft

A Schuylkill County man was cited for retail theft this week at a county business.

State police at Frackville said Justin Tielman, of Pottsville, was observed by employees of the Sears store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, removing a Sony PS3 wireless controller from the store without paying for it. The incident occurred about noon on Thursday, Jan. 5.He will have to answer the charge before District Judge David Plachko of Port Carbon.Troopers from the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a retail theft incident that occurred the Boscov's store in the Fairlane Village Mall, in Norwegian Township.Troopers said about 4:41 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, a white male took possession of a Philadelphia Eagles knit cap, valued at $25, and attempted to leave the store without paying for it.He was stopped by store security outside where he returned the item to the security personnel and then fled on foot towards SR61.The suspect was wearing blue jeans, black shirt, black jacket, white sneakers and had a tattoo on the back of his neck.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 593-2000.
