Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on a two-vehicle crash probed by officers that occurred about 7:41 a.m. on Dec. 31 at along Kuhenbeaaker Road, at the entrance to High Country Estates, Tunkhannock Township.

Police said Shannon Kelly, of Albrightsville, was driving eastbound and entering a right-hand curve in the road when she lost control due to ice on the road surface. Her vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a vehicle operated by Mita Thakker, of Mt. Pocono. Upon impact Thakker's vehicle left the road and came to rest in a field.Thakker had to be extricated from her vehicle due to heavy damage to the door area and was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment of injuries. Kelly sustained minor injuries.Police were assisted at the scene by volunteers from the Tunkhannck Fire Company.
