State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a burglary and attempted burglary at two Schuylkill County locations.

Troopers said the residence of Kevin Donton Jr., 23, of 8 Fidler St., Pine Grove Township, was entered sometime between 10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, and 2:43 a.m. on Sunday.A side trailer door was kicked in to gain entry and a table drawer was gone through with nothing apparently taken.Troopers said an attempted break-in occurred at 8 Chestnut St., in Cressona. An air conditioning unit was pulled out of a first floor window and placed on the back porch in an apparent attempt to gain entry to the home. The burglar alarm went off, scaring off the criminals, troopers said. The incident occurred about 3:28 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2. The homeowner was not identified by troopers.
