Schuylkill incident

Published September 21. 2012 05:02PM

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating an incident at a Schuylkill County residence in which they are warning other residents about.

Troopers said between 2 and 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, an unknown white male came to the home at 714 Suedburg Road, in Pine Grove Township, and knocked on the door.

He stated to the homeowner, who was not identified by troopers, that he would check if the roof leaks on the home. It was raining heavily at the time, troopers noted.

While the male was speaking with the homeowner, another person entered the house and removed a purse from a couch in another room. They then fled the scene.

Troopers remind homeowners to never let anyone they don't known into their homes and to always ask for identification from any would-be contractors.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 593-2000.
