Tamaqua man violates his parole

A Tamaqua man allegedly violated his parole and was taken into custody on Saturday, March 3.

Tamaqua police were dispatched to 259 W. Row St. at 7 p.m. for a reported unwanted person at the residence. On scene they were told that Brian Keith Woods, 47, was intoxicated and wasn't wanted in the home. Officers observed Woods, who was on probation, place a beer can on a shelf. There was also a strong odor of alcohol emanating from Woods.Knowing that Woods' probation prohibited him from drinking alcoholic beverages the officer took him into custody and transported him to the police station. A portable breath test indicated a blood-alcohol content of .54 percent.A Schuylkill County Adult Probation official transported Woods to the county prison in Pottsville.In a previous incident, from March 2, Woods was charged with corruption of minors, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after he allegedly propositioned a 14-year-old girl, offering marijuana in exchange for sexual favors. He was also intoxicated at that time.
