Many drivers were surprised Wednesday with a thin layer of slick snow and slush. Despite only receiving minimal accumulations of snow, there were multiple reports of minor fender benders and accidents throughout our area. PennDOT, borough and township workers were also called out to lay road salt on both major and municipal roads. There were no reports of serious injuries. The driver of this red Dodge Journey van crashed into a tree and took out a mailbox after failing to negotiate a slippery SR54 in Hometown yesterday. Ryan Township ambulance and Rush Township Police responded.
