A motorcycle and a pickup truck collided in a crash in Schuylkill County that occurred about 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, along SR443 in Pine Grove Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Robert Blane Brown, 49, of Hagerstown, Md., was operating a 2008 Ford pickup truck and pulled out of the Pilot Service Station onto 443 with a tracker bass boat and trailer attached.As he pulled out to make a left to go eastbound he observed a motorcycle approaching heading west. Brown attempted to get out of the way but could not as the trailer portion was in the westbound lane. Thomas Dean Alexander, 58, of Harrisburg, operating a 2004 Yamaha Classic bike, could not stop and his cycle and hit the trailer.Both Alexander his passenger, Susan Ann Alexander, 50, same address, were wearing helmets and full protective gear, troopers said, and sustained minor cuts and bruises. Both were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, for treatment.Brown and his passenger, Francis W. Whitehead Jr., 66, of Greencastle, Franklin County, were not injured.Troopers also probed a crash on Friday, June 8, about 3:26 a.m. along SR501 at the Berks/Schuylkill line, in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Lee Bausher, 65, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck southbound and going up a hill when he lost control while negotiating a curve. The truck went onto the berm and hit a series of guide rails before going down an embankment.The truck came to rest facing east. Bausher was unable to get out of his vehicle due to damages to both doors and had to be extricated by rescue personnel. He sustained a minor injury, troopers said.
