Carbon Conservation Camp planned

Published July 11. 2012 05:01PM

Carbon County Environmental Education Center and Carbon County Conservation District will co-sponsor a Conservation Camp for students during the week of Aug. 13. The camp is a resident camp at Camp Shehaqua, Hickory Run State Park. This week of outdoor learning experiences is open to students 8 to 13 years of age, and will include a balance of environmental education and outdoor recreational opportunities.

Both the Carbon County Conservation District and the CCEEC are proud to announce this is the 24th year the camp is in operation. The camp is co-ed and participants have a full schedule of classes and fieldwork that will have "carry-over value" in future environmental endeavors and much, more!

Camp registration is now being accepted. Anyone who would like to register a child or need more information, call 570-645-8597.

Sponsors for camp are also needed. Organizations can call for information on how to send a child to camp for the week by calling the above number.
