Tamaqua Fire Depart. releases annual report

Tamaqua Fire Chief Tom Hartz released the 2011 response report for the Tamaqua Fire Department, which consists of American Hose Company, Citizen's Fire Company, East End Fire Company and South Ward Fire Company.

The department received 32 "all calls" (all fire companies responded), 135 silent calls, 60 chief's calls, 89 mutual aid calls and 15 EMS assist calls. Man hours consisted of 4,362 on-scene hours, 6,987 training in-house hours, 1,560 mandated state training hours, 1,481 meeting hours, 932 maintenance hours, 559 fire prevention hours and 5,460 fundraising hours. Total fire damage/loss for 2011 was $606,000 ($558,000 of that was from the South Lehigh Street fire).
