Pennsylvania 4-H is celebrating 100 years of helping boys and girls succeed.

The organization began in 1912 with a corn growing contest in Mercer County. Fourteen 14 boys and one girl competed against one another in that contest.Since then Pennsylvania 4-H has been helping youth and adults learn, grow, and work together for 100 years with volunteers providing countless hours of time and 4-H members and their families making worthwhile contributions to the citizens of Pennsylvania and this nation.In order to help celebrate the Pennsylvania 4-H Centennial, Carbon County has established a centennial committee, which is planning a 4-H reunion to be held in the fall.The Carbon County 4-H Centennial Committee is currently looking for memorabilia, in the way of 4-H projects, photos, photo albums, clothing, etc from 4-H club years. All items would be displayed the items at the reunion.
