Miller Blood Drive

Miller-Keystone Blood Center will be conducting its bimonthly community blood drive on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at First United Church of Christ, next to Palmerton Borough Hall, from 12:30-5:30 p.m. This visit is sponsored by the Palmerton Concourse Club.

There is a serious blood shortage at present. Although Palmerton is fortunate to have many "regulars" who appear each time, additional donors are needed. College students who are still on vacation or who commute, and eligible high school students are especially urged to donate. High school students must be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. They do not need parental permission to donate. They should bring photo ID, such as a driver's license, if they have not previously donated to Miller. Previous Miller donors are reminded to bring their Miller cards.

Miller-Keystone supplies all the blood and blood products to all the hospitals in this area: Palmerton, Gnaden Huetten, Lehigh Valley, St. Luke's, Sacred Heart, etc. Most people know a family member or friend who has needed blood. Please donate, to assure that enough blood will be on hand to cover any need.

To make an appointment, or for more information, phone George Ashman at (610) 826-2097. For any question about medical eligibility to donate (medications, etc.) phone Miller at 1-800-223-6667.

If you are unable to donate at this blood drive, but wish to donate at another time or place, phone Miller at the aforementioned number or go to
