Mark Germine, 57, of Jim Thorpe, has been arrested by state police at the Lehighton barracks for DUI.

Police said the incident happened at 8;45 p.m. Dec. 19 at State Rt. 903 and Behrens Road in Penn Forest Township.Police said they were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle off the roadway at the above location. Upon investigation, police learned Germine was driving a vehicle that missed the turn onto Behrens Road. The vehicle went off the road and became stuck in a drainage ditch on the side of the road.Police said it was suspected Germine was driving under the influence of a controlled substance, resulting in the charge.
