Three vehicles were damaged in a crash at 1:15 p.m. Dec. 18 along State Route 183 in Cressona Borough.

Police said Patricia Polinsky, 61, of Minersville, was driving a 2007 Nissan Maxima southbound when the operater accelerated for some unknown reason as the vehicle approached a 1999 Ford F-150 operated by Richard C. Reis, 47, of Schuylkill Haven, causing the front bumper of the Maxima to hit the rear of the truck. Subsequently, the front bumper of the truck hit the rear of a 2009 Ford Escape driven by Krystal L. Thomas, 30, of Frackville.Police said Polinsky's vehicle sustained major damage while the other two vehicles were moderately damaged.Polinsky will receive traffic citations for causing the accident.
