Lehighton Area Middle School Art Seminar students will host an art sale on Thursday, Dec. 15 from 6-8 p.m. in the school gymnasium, in conjunction with the holiday music program.

It will be open during the performances. All proceeds from this inaugural art sale will benefit the students' spring field trip to The Banana Factory a visual arts and education campus in Bethlehem."Art Seminar is a hand-selected group of eighth graders who have an interest in art and have artistic talent," says LAMS art teacher Diane Micheletti. "They have been working since September creating art for our sale."The artwork looks like what you would purchase at an arts festival made by professional crafters."Included in the art sale will be the opportunity to win a basket, featuring both student art and holiday-themed items donated by the students."One-of-a kind" items will be part of the silent auction, with items going to the highest bidder. There will also be a wide variety of "cash and carry" items which include paintings, ceramics, Christmas ornaments, and much more.Prices will range from $1 to $25, and they will accept cash only."I am so proud of my talented students and their commitment to making this sale a success. They have worked so hard and they are very excited about selling their art," said Micheletti. For more information about the art sale and what is going on in the Lehighton Area School District, visit
